Ironbuilt Powers Up Stubbo Switch Yard
Following a competitive tender process, Ironbuilt Infrastructure was selected by Zinfra to undertake the complete construction of the Stubbo Switch Yard. This comprehensive project involved a wide range of civil and electrical infrastructure works, including:
Our scope included:
- Site Preparation: Establishment of the site compound, laydown area, and construction of a new access road within the switching station.
- Earthworks: Execution of bulk earthworks and installation of a subsoil drainage system.
- Foundation Construction: Construction of foundations for critical high-voltage (HV) equipment, including surge arrestors, voltage transformers, disconnectors, circuit breakers, current transformers, and the 330kV bus support structure. This also included foundations for insulator posts, gantry towers, lighting, and security poles.
- Civil Works: Construction of kerbs, gutters, concrete V drains, roadside kerbs, hardstand areas, and associated sewer services.
- Security Infrastructure: Supply and installation of security fencing.
- Ancillary Works: This included the construction of pad footings for the auxiliary service building, installation of underground conduits and pits, construction of Transmission Line 79 Tower 119A foundation, earth grid trenching and backfill, cable trenching with associated pits, RC slabs for shipping containers, and an access track for the transmission line.
Project Outcome:
Ironbuilt Infrastructure successfully delivered the Stubbo Switch Yard project, providing Zinfra with a fully functional and operational facility. The project demonstrated Ironbuilt’s expertise in managing complex infrastructure projects, encompassing a broad range of civil and electrical works.
