Ironbuilt Infrastructure was engaged by Essential Energy as Principal Contractor to deliver civil and construction works at the Forest Glen Zone Substation and Switching Station, located near Minore in the Central West region of NSW.
The project supports long-term grid reliability and network capacity in the region, with Ironbuilt managing all civil works from initial site establishment through to final reinstatement.
This project is delivered under Essential Energy‘s panel contracting arrangement, continuing Ironbuilt’s established working relationship across Essential Energy’s infrastructure portfolio. Works are being carried out to meet the high standards required for zone substation delivery, with the team managing a technically demanding scope in a regional environment.

Scope of works includes:
- Site establishment, clearing and access construction
- Bulk earthworks and substation bench preparation
- Construction of substation and switching station benches
- Transformer compound development and foundations
- Multi-layer pavement construction and hardstand areas
- Electrical concrete trenching, conduits, pits and earth grid installation
- Stormwater drainage systems
- Internal roadworks and landscaping
- Boundary fencing and gates
